Summary: Policy updated to add the board's expectation that the superintendent or designee will be nondiscriminatory and demonstrate a commitment to equity whenever he/she is exercising administrative authority to address a situation that is either not covered in written policies or that requires immediate action to avoid risk to student and staff safety, protect district property, or prevent disruption of school operations. Policy clarifies the superintendent's accountability for all areas of operation under his/her authority and provides that the superintendent or designee will notify the board, as appropriate, of his/her actions exercised pursuant to this policy.
