EF Tours Stories of Scotland.pdf
Summary: Hosted by Education First (EF) Tours, and educational tour company that has focused on student centered, fun, and education tours for over fifty years.

The "Stories of Scotland" Tour is scheduled for March 21-29, 2020 (during Spring Break), and is a unique educational opportunity open to all Silver Valley High School students, their parents, and staff. The purpose of this tour is to provide educational travel experience to students that may not otherwise have the opportunity to travel.

Scotland is a beautiful country with a large historic significance in the modern world. There are a great many historic locations that will be visited while on the tour, including the famed Loch Ness, the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, multiple castles, the historic trail of Bonny Prince Charlie, and more.

This tour is open to the entirety of the school. The only restriction is that students must be PBIS compliant, and both the student, and his/her parent/guardian, will be required to sign a Code of Conduct prior to departing for the trip. Some fundraising will be done to help offset the cost of the trip, but the majority of it will be student paid. this initial cost of the tour includes all amenities, airfare to/from Scotland, entrances to historical locations and museums, and all breakfasts and dinners.

If the tour itself was not enough, DF Tours offers college credits following the completion of curriculum that will be available after the trip. These credits are a great way to "jump-start" a student's post-high school academics.

As the tour is still in the works, there are no confirmed departure/arrival dates, though we have been guaranteed to tour during our Spring Break. Likewise, there are no students currently signed up as we are awaiting board approval to proceed with the sign-up process.
Funding: Each student will be responsible for all of their own expenses.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Governing Board approve this overnight, and out-of-country, field trip for SVHS students to travel to Scotland, United Kingdom March 21-29, 2020.
